Sharon Locke


Sharon Locke Sharon Locke is a seasoned recreation professional with years of dedicated service to community enrichment and civic engagement. As the current Legislative Chair for the MA Recreation and Park Association (MRPA), Sharon is a leading voice for legislative advocacy at the state level. She actively empowers her colleagues to stay informed on policy issues, submit testimony at joint committee hearings, and advocate for the field. In a milestone for statewide advocacy, Sharon organized the first-ever MRPA Advocacy Day at the MA State House, creating a powerful platform for park and recreation professionals to meet directly with elected officials. Advocacy Day has become an annual tradition that continues to strengthen the visibility and influence of the profession on Beacon Hill. Sharon credits the NRPA Park Champion Initiative with igniting her passion for policy advocacy. Sharon has served as the Assistant Director of Recreation for the Town of Weston, MA since 2006, prior to that she worked as the Aquatics Director for the Town of Brookline, MA. Sharon holds a degree in Recreation Studies from Gordon College and is a 2015 graduate of the NRPA Director’s School.
