Jayson Seaman & Forrest Schwartz

Jayson Seaman is a professor and chair of the Department of Recreation Management and Policy at UNH, studying how young people construct identity, purpose, and belonging within changing social contexts. He co-leads the New Hampshire Youth Retention Initiative, a research program examining how rural youth imagine and plan their futures amid economic and cultural change.

Forrest G. Schwartz, Ph.D., is a senior lecturer and Internship Coordinator for the Department of Recreation Management and Policy at UNH, with over two decades of experience in outdoor recreation and experiential education. He holds a Ph.D. from Penn State University and has led numerous domestic and international expeditions while publishing on outdoor ethics and Leave No Trace education.
